 Steel roadplate

Steel and GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) roadplates are designed to cover apertures and trench excavations during construction and repair work. The roadplate should be secured to the road surface with fixing pins or anchors.

For your safety

  • GRP roadplates should be recessed into the surface or secured down with fixing pins or anchors
  • Due regard must be paid to the Manual Handling Regulations when lifting and moving these components, which in the case of GRP roadplates should be done by at least two persons. Steel roadplates must only be lifted by mechanical equipment
