The Harsco Infrastructure soft landing bags are a highly effective and widely used means of protecting personnel from injury from falls from height, where full edge protection methods are not reasonably practicable.

The bags will absorb the impact of falls of up to two metres. They can be manually handled by one person or moved with available mechanical plant and are easy to install by personnel with basic training. They require low maintenance and do not rely upon mechanical generators to maintain an air flow, thereby reducing safety control tasks.

Specifications

  • Filled soft landing bags: 2.5m long x 0.55m high x 0.55mm wide
  • Material: woven polypropylene filled with polystyrene components.
  • Inflatable soft landing bags: 2.15m long x 0.75m high x 0.75m wide

The bags are clipped together to avoid any gaps, providing a complete floor covering.

For your safety

  • The Harsco Infrastructure soft landing system has been independently tested in dynamic tests of 100kg mass weight to ensure that the product retains its integrity in the event of a fall
  • To maintain a maximum 2m height of fall for applications that are higher, a further bag can be added to reduce the fall height back to 2 metres, subject to advice
  • Care must be taken to avoid the risk of obstructions being struck in the event of a fall e.g. internal walls
